My Story
Before photography, I worked as a freelance artist, and a nanny. I loved painting for my friends, and giving pieces as gifts. Making art was (and still is) a true passion of mine. As time progressed it became less practical to stay consistent with. I wanted to find a profession that would allow me to use my creativity, and be able to provide for myself. My good friends suggested I try photography. I wasn’t sure about the idea at first, but I’m so glad I took up their offer. I started my business fall, 2021. Since then, I’ve been working hard to create a loving and enjoyable experience for my clients!
Why Weddings and Family Photography?
I’m fascinated with beauty. I've dedicated my time to grab hold of beautiful things, and somehow preserve it with simple tools like composition, contrast and storytelling. For me, people are the most beautiful thing to photograph. While I do love the majesty of a wide and overwhelming landscape, my connection with the image isn’t as strong as it is with people. While I’ve chosen to photograph weddings and families as my job, my camera does come with me on vacations to capture ominous, still, moments from strictly nature.
I find relationships, emotion, and experiences most interesting and personal to me. I like to interact with my subjects. I like to work together, to create pieces that feel new, stylish and have a sense of authenticity.
Non-Photography Facts About Me
I am recently married to my wonderful husband, Lucas. It’s been such a happy time and I’ve loved seeing another perspective into the wedding world!
My favorite color is red. It’s such a strong, powerful color! I love working it into my compositions if I can.
I can make a pretty good french silk pie.
If I’m not photographing a wedding or editing a gallery, you will most likely find me with loved ones or working hard in some other creative outlet. Painting, leading worship with my friends, going on hikes, and spending time with my family are just a few ways I love to spend my free time!
